Geocache Description:

This is a very easy challenge that most cachers with 300-400 finds will be able to accomplish. Those with 200 or less may need to go out and find a few more to meet the challenge criteria.

I recently begun trying to knock out some of the local challenges. Puzzler challenges requiring a certain percent of puzzles for 250 finds, X number of FTFs, filling in so many squares on your difficulty/terrain grid, etc.

But most of these challenges are way out of the reach of a relatively new cacher. So I started wondering out loud what kind of challenge would be fit for a cacher with my modest experience level, say... under 500 caches. And as I was talking out the possibilities, my four year old in the back seat asked "what about A, B, Cs?" I guess at four years old, the ABCs are still a little challenging. Although he has them down better than his old man!

Which got me thinking the following:

The Easy Alphabet Challenge:

This challenge is relatively simple. The cache is at the listed coordinates. However, in order to qualify for the challenge and claim a find, you must post a list of one cache that you've found that begins with each letter of the English alphabet. (I had to specify English alphabet, because someone would try to claim the Rotokas alphabet, with only 11 letters!)

You can post a screenshot of a GSAK list, or just a list with GC codes of the caches you've found that meet the criteria. To keep it simple, you may ignore punctuation marks. For example, my list would probably read:

GC2DBY5 - Adventurer's First Stop
GC1HN7X - Barbed Wired
GC2HZYR - Chirping in Marana
GC3EET1 - Dodgers Spring Training
GC3KTNY - Everybody's Park
GC2WZP1 - Festival of a Cache
GC31JYE - Go Fish!
GC3PKXM - Historic AZ66: Bellemont-Top of the World

... you get the idea

My full list, as proof that I've completed this challenge is:

Caches listed must have a physical container. Sorry, but events, virtuals, earthcaches, webcams, etc. do not qualify. Traditionals, multis, mysteries and letterboxes do. Wherigos will qualify if they have a physical container at the end of the cartridge.

You must list your qualifying caches on your post in order to receive credit for the find. You may sign the paper log before qualifying and post a note, then change your note to a find once you meet the challenge requirements. Please do not tell me to view your statistics or send me a GSAK file to confirm your qualification for myself.

You'll find that some letters such as Q, X and Z are rather difficult to find, but they're out there. There's three Zs and two Qs within ten miles of the West Valley. And there are several Xs in the downtown Phoenix area. When I got the idea for this challenge, I only had to run out and grab one cache, GC10KD0 "Quail's Run" in order to qualify myself.
