Geocache Description:

Black Magnet Key Hider!

This Cache is located right inside the Calhoun County Line, when you are coming from Oxford. About 7 years ago when I was in High School I was in a club called "Fox's Army". The clubs purpose was to bring attention to  the well diserved honor's that were given to a man right here in Calhoun County. Fox Conner was a major genneral of the United Startes Army. He served as operations officer during WWI, but is best remembered as "the man who made Eisenhower". Conner was born in Slate Springs, just right down the road in Calhoun County. He was appointed to the United States Military Academy in 1894, and served with the Cuban occupation force after graduation. During WWI, Conner was tapped by General John J. Pershing to be the chief of operations (G3) for the American Expeditionary Force in France with Colonel John McAuley Palmer under his immediate supervision. Conner took Eisenhower "under his wing" and guieded him and helped him grow. Conner took command of the 20th Infantry Brigade in Panama, he invited Eisenhower to join his staff.
