Welcome to the Memorial TB Hotel. Please read on for the rules of Check-In/Out.
This cache is located on private property a short distance off a public street. Roadside parking is plentiful and Property Owner is aware of Cache. If you have time, say hello to the Big Guy sitting on the porch, trust us, he's a frendly bear and would love to hear all about your experiences locating this Hotel.
Please do not block driveway when visiting.
The Memorial TB Hotel is placed in honor of LeAnn Schaffer, Wife of the current Property Owner and Mother to ElmoNAbu. Please respect the property and the HOTEL RULES:
1. LOG YOUR VISIT
2. If you take a bug, LOG IT! If you aren't sure how to log it, ASK. This Cache will be closely monitored and all "missing bugs" will be tracked down to the last visitor in the log. Please don't make us send you a "Nasty Gram" e-mail to nag you about logging in your bugs
3. If there is only one Bug in the Cache and you do not have one to trade, consider leaving it for the next cacher to move along. Nobody likes to find an empty TB Hotel, do your part to keep the rooms from going empty.
FOUR rooms have been provided to sort the general direction of travel for each bug. PLEASE USE THEM If your bug does not have a specific travel direction requirement, place it into any of the 4 rooms you like. This will help others know what bugs to take based on their direction of caching. If your bug is too big for the Hotel, feel free to leave it anyway but note that in you log so we may ensure it is secured and able to move along on its journey safely.
The Story Behind this Cache:
LeAnn was a fun loving woman who loved the idea of travel and meeting people from all over the globe. Since she was not born into a life of ease, she was not able to travel to all the places that interested her in her lifetime. Instead, she would live vicariously through meeting people from different locations and countries. She would always ask questions about their travels, what it was like where they were from, and anything else she could think of. When she was able to travel she was always fascinated with the differences in climate, culture, and landscapes from place to place. What interested her most was learning the history of the culture and traditions of the areas where she would visit.
In 2009, LeAnn was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She fought a strong battle and remained healthy enough to travel to see family and go camping until late in 2011 when the disease finally took its toll. Through it all, she remained positive, active, and curious about all things related to travel. It was her dream to travel around the United States, to return to Hawaii, and to possibly make it outside of North America one day. While she was never able to achieve that goal for herself, the goal of this TB Hotel is to host Bugs needing a rest stop from all over the globe. While they are here they will be cared for, kept safe, and moved along to their next destination in a timely manner. All we ask is that each bug share its story, where it came from, where it is going, and possibly a photo or two of its travels along the way.
This Hotel will open with some very special guests, a couple of bugs we have collected along the way that have a very unique and touching story of their own to tell. Please stop by their pages, read their stories, and move them along safely if you get the chance.
Happy Caching and Thank You for helping us keep LeAnn's love for travel and meeting people from other locations alive.
