Geocache Description:

This wee Cache is situated on what was once the Belfast and County Down Railway.

You can park in The Commons car park, or in the huge layby across the road from the start of the path.

Railway path, Donaghadee (1)

Looking back towards The Commons.

Railway path, Donaghadee (2)

Looking towards the Cache.

The Raiway ran from the Station in Donaghadee, past what is now The Commons and on towards Six Road Ends, into Newtownards, Comber and finally Belfast.
This path takes you on the old trackbed as far as The Watertower, a wee park where you can search out "The Navigators Friend" (GC281M8) although why the powers that be didn't continue the walk a short distance further to the bridge on The Killoughey Road, who knows!!

A lot of the bridges between here and Six Road ends are still standing........I may try to get Caches on or near the ones still in use!!

For all the info you could want about the Railway, plus what's going on on the only restored part of the line in Downpatrick, well worth a visit by the way, have a wee look here....

The Cache is a Nano (Hardly worth the effort is it?) Probably won't be too hard to find, but bring a writing implement and something to help remove the Log (It really is a tight fit)
