Säulenfichte "Hängefichte"
Säulenfichte, "Hängefichte" (Picea excelsa) interessantes Naturdenkmal, europaweit fast einzigartig. Befindet sich in Mühlen/Pfalzen nach dem Restaurant Schöneck.
Die Säulenfichte bei Issing
Der 25m hohe Baum mit den dünnen, geschwungenen Ästen und Zweigen, die eng am Stamm anliegen, ist der einzige seiner Art in Südtirol. Sein eigenartiges Aussehen, Geäst, das tief herabreicht und sich um den Baum windet, hat ihm auch den Namen, Schlangenfichte eingebracht. Nur am Gipfel stehen ein paar kurze Äste und Zweige wie bei einem normalen Baum rechtwinklig ab. Die Säulenfichte steht direkt neben der Straße, auf dem Weg von Terenten nach Pfalzen, am Fuße des Burghügels mit dem Schloß Schöneck.

Il singolare abete di Issingo
Con i suoi sottili e slanciati rami e rametti, stretti attorno al fusto, questo albero alto 25 metri è l'unico in tutto l'Alto Adige. Per il suo originale aspetto, la particolare ramificazione, che si staglia profondamente avvolgendo l'albero, viene anche chiamato "abete serpente". Solo in cima si possono notare un paio di rami e rametti come quelli di un normale albero. L'abete a colonna sta accanto alla strada, sulla via tra Terento e Falzes, ai piedi della collina del borgo con il castello di "Schöneck".

The single spruce tree in Issengo
With its thin and sleek branches which are closely attached to the tree trunk, this 25 m high tree is the only one of its kind in South Tyrol. Due to its unusual appearance and the special arrangement of the branches which clasp around the trunk, this tree is also called the "snake spruce". Only at the very top of the tree can you see some larger and smaller branches which look like those of a normal tree. The "snake spruce" is located near the road on the way from Terento to Falzes at the bottom of the hill on which "Schöneck" Castle thrones.
