Schloss Ebenau
Das kleine Schloss Ebenau steht am Rande von Weizelsdorf im Rosental. Früher stand es außerhalb der Ortschaft, heute gehört es dazu und hat die Hausnummer 1.
Der zweigeschoßige Renaissancebau mit Kniestock, zwei Ecktürmen im Westen und Walmdach aus der Zeit des 16. Jahrhunderts (erbaut von den Freiherrn zu Dietrichstein) erfuhr später im Stil der Sezession eine Neugestaltung.
Die frühe Geschichte des Schlosses liegt im Dunkel der Vergangenheit. In einer Urkunde aus 1220 bis 1240 scheint eine Hube in Weitzelsdorf auf, die von Swiker von Hollenburg, dem Letzten seines Geschlechtes, dem Kloster in Viktring geschenkt wurde. Aus den Erträgen der Hube einer Mühle und Stampfe sollte eine damals neu errichtete Draubrücke erhalten werden und jedermann sollte diese ohne Abgaben passieren können.
In der Folge wechselte das Schloss sehr oft den Eigentümer, und so kam es 1670 auch wieder an das Kloster Viktring als Sommerresidenz der Äbte. Später war es auch kurzfristig im Besitz der Prinzen von Liechtenstein, und seit 1996 ist es im Eigentum der Familie Dr. Erich und Judith Walker und dient nunmehr als Galerie und Ausstellungszentrum.
The Castle Ebenau
The Castle Ebenau which was formerly a renaissance style building is situated within a park, surrounded by a wall, on the southern outskirts of the village of Weizelsdorf in the municipality of Feistritz im Rosental. The early history of the castle lies in the dim and distant past. It is mentioned in a document from 1220 - 1240 that an old farmhouse in the village of Weizelsdorf had been given to the monastery of Viktring by Swiker von Hollenburg, the last of his lineage.
From the yield of the old farmhouse, a mill and a pounder a newly built bridge across the river Drau should have been maintained. People should no longer have to pay in order to cross the river. In the second half of the 16th century, the castle had probably been built as a nobleman` s country residence before in the second half of the 19th century the building was structurally changed (the portal in the middle, the balcony, the quarter pavilions on the upper floor between turrets, the windows and the roof of the towers). The ledge as well as the balcony` s railing date from the secessionist period. The building has a base with a smooth plaster and three floors, whereas the last floor is an attic.
The castle consists of a massive rectangular block with two small corner towers on the western side where the main entrance is. It has triangular ornamental embrasures on the second floor, polygonal oriels between the towers and the wall on the western side which are one storey high and it has a hipped roof. The facade is structured in the late historicist style according to the pattern 1+7+1:4:8:3 axes. Each storey has a homogeneous shape of the windows. It is a building with a cellar underneath part of it and it has a three-piece ground plan as the hall runs longitudinally with two rooms on each side.
The cellar and the ground floor still show the original state from the time of erection. There is barrel vaulting with crescent-shaped windows or a monastery vault with crescent-shaped windows respectively. There are two rooms on the upper floor which also show the original state with barrel vaulting with crescent-shaped windows or a cross vault with crescent-shaped windows respectively. The other rooms have flat ceilings. Since 1996 the castle is used as a gallery and an exhibition centre by Dr. Erich and Judith Walker and family.

Die Galerie Walker
Auf 4 Ebenen und insgesamt mehr als 500 m² Ausstellungsfläche wird österreichische und internationale Kunst gezeigt, wobei einen der Schwerpunkte Werke bedeutender Kärntner Künstler (Kiki Kogelnik, Hans Bischoffshausen, Bruno Gironcoli) bilden. Auch der Schlosspark präsentiert sich mit über 20 Plastiken von Bildhauern aus dem Alpe-Adria-Raum als Kunstort und lädt den Besucher zu einem Rundgang ein.
