I placed this cache to help with the teaching of the Geocaching Merit Badge that I will be conducting at Camp Roper 11/17/12. It is a small but all in it now is a log. I will have the scouts put more in to the cache. Cachers are welcome to put swag in. There will also be some scouting TBs placed here to be moved so that the scouts can track them for 30 days.
Camp Roper is a primitive camp for Scouting units to enjoy an outdoor program on a 30 acre island with primitive camping. Camp Roper was made available by the generous donation of the Bert Roper family, long-time citrus growers, from Winter Garden, FL. They gave the Central Florida Council a long-term lease with the provision that it be maintained as a primitive environment, and that the leave no trace ethic govern use of the island.
