Geocache Description:

An easy cache and dash type cache with parking right by the container. Please watch for muggles when searching for or hiding the container.

This is a tall thin lock and lock spagetti container so there is plenty of room for trade items. I placed it here due to the history of this area. Along  Neversink Drive there are many historical spots where there were skirmishes with the Indians and even an old burial ground for slaves. Take a ride along the whole thing and get a taste of the local history. This cache is along the old Minisink - Montgomery Turnpike. Established in 1809 it was used to connect What is now Port Jervis ( Part of Minisink in the early days) and Newburgh. It ran to the town of Wallkill where it intersected the Newburgh - Cochecton Turnpike in the Town of Montgomery. If you try to follow it now, you will find it fades to a path up the mountain shortly after you cross the railroad tracks at the end of Shinhollow road. Hence it is now the road to nowhere. First to find will find a handy little LED flashlight in with the log book.
