Geocache Description:

Please read the description below for logging requirements for this challenge cache. The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. This cache is located near Grand River Avenue and Halsted Road (going south.) There is parking nearby.

You are expected to physically sign the log sheet in order to log your find on-line.

The cache is at the final waypoint. There is no parking at the site of the cache. There is parking nearby. The difficulty rating on this cache is set based on the qualifications of the challenge. The cache itself is relatively straightforward.

It seems that most of the challenges are on the east side, not always an easy side trip to make for me. I thought it was time there were a few more challenge caches on the west side. I also thought it would be good to have some different types.

I originally thought of doing some theme with the movie 300 since this requires finding 300 caches, but decided to go with a theme of consistent caching. It turns out there is similar challenge to this one in Holland, Michigan. This challenge rewards consistency. You do not need to be a daily cacher to complete this one, just a consistent one. The challenge for you to complete is to find 25 caches each month for 12 consecutive months. This is not a literal year. It does not need to start with January.

The Logging Requirements:

  • Find at least 25 caches each month for 12 consecutive months. This cache does NOT count towards that goal.
  • You will need to find 300 different caches.
  • All cache types count. For events, the date the event is held is what counts not when it was listed.
  • Sign and date the log individually.
  • Post qualification as described in the listing below within one week of logging.
  • Qualification needs to occur before finding the cache. “Prefinding” of this cache is not allowed.
  • Any logs not following the requirements above will be deleted.

You can demonstrate your qualification through several means. You could post a link to published statistics with a completed matrix that shows the numbers per month, such as with GSAK. You could also post a screenshot of a completed matrix. Less ideal would be to create a bookmark list or to post a text listing, although that would certainly boost your average words per log count.

Here is my own example:

Please be sure to restore the cache to its hiding place in a similar condition. Please bring your own pencil or pen.
