The new Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway GeoTrail is a fun and interesting way to travel the Byway routes around Cayuga Lake. With 20 different caches strategically placed, you’re sure to get a true taste of the terrain and discover a new perspective on the beauty and culture of the Cayuga Lake region. Whether you’re a die-hard cacher or new to the activity, we hope you’ll Enjoy the Ride along our GeoTrail.

The Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway (GLSB) Geotrail is divided into two regions – east and west – with 10 caches located within each region. Geotrail logbook passports are available at the locations listed below and other tourism information centers throughout the region.

Geocachers finding at least 15 official CLSB Geotrail caches can redeem the passport for a free commemorative Geotrail Coin. Five hundred (500) coins have been produced and are available while supplies last.

Each cache contains a numbered hole punch that corresponds to a numbered space in the punch strip for each region, Once you have punched at least 12 spaces bring your passport to one of the following sites to pick up your free collectable geocoin.

This cache is located just off the new Black Diamond Trail in Ulysses.

The Black Diamond Trail will be a multi-use trail network connecting Taughannock State Park, Allan H. Treman State Marine Park (by Cass Park),
Buttermilk Falls State Park and Robert Treman State Park. When built, it will provide over 15 miles of safe pathways for non-motorized users (i.e bicyclists and pedestrians). More information about progress on the development of this trail can be found on the Black Diamond Trail Website.


Lock-n-Lock Container.  The cache has a permanent craft punch in it that is used to complete the cache series.


**PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE PUNCH FROM THE CACHE!!!
