Welcome to the 48th Hampshire Monthly Mid-Week Cache Event to be held at the Sunshine Inn, Havant Rd., Farlington, Portsmouth, PO6 1AB on Wednesday 12th December 2012.
The landlady (Katt) has indicated that in view of our numbers, we should have the sole use of this large pub and that her "regulars" are unlikely to be admitted!
Entrance to the single large bar is via just 3 small steps, so disabled access should not pose any problem.
Anybody attending in a wheelchair can contact me prior to the event and I will make special arrangements.
Although not offering a full restaurant menu, the pub does provide bar snacks at very reasonable prices.
See the attached sample menu to give you an idea of what will be available.
Food should be ordered on the night. Please post in your Will Attend logs as to whether or not you intend to eat since that will enable us to give the kitchen some idea of how many to cater for.
There is an excellent (and highly recommended) Chinese Takeaway next door to the pub.
The traditional red ammo box will be available for the swapping and discovering of Geocoins and Travel Bugs.
There are small car parks to front and rear of the pub.
When these are full, there is plenty of on-street parking in nearby residental roads.
With plenty of circulating space in the bar, there will be plenty of opportunity to swop tall caching stories with others, and pump cache owners for hints to some of their more devious hides.
There will be a very special Christmas raffle with dozens of prizes on offer, totalling around £300 in value.
Those who attended last year's event will not need reminding to bring enough change to get plenty of tickets!
Groundspeak have indicated that a special "Souvenir" with be made available to anybody who attends this event, or finds any other cache, on the date of 12/12/12.
If you have not been to an Event Cache before, then do please feel free to come along.
If you would like to experience something different, and have the chance to meet other cachers, then don't worry that you might not know anybody. We don't bite, and you can be assured of a warm welcome!
