Welcome to Greenwood Cemetery, known widely in the early 20th century as The Beautiful City Of The Dead!
This Wherigo cache will take you on an interactive guided tour of just a few of this fantastic cemetery's notable sites. To find this cache, you will need to download and "play" the Wherigo cartridge from Wherigo.com. To do so, click the related link, download the cartridge, and install the cartridge on a compatible device. For more information on playing Wherigo cartridges, please visit Wherigo.com.
At the end of your tour, you will be directed to a standard geocache container with a logbook and swag. Once you've finished your tour and earned your smiley, feel free to wander and explore the rest of this fantastic cemetery on your own! You can use a Pocket PC, Iphone, Android device, or a Wherigo-enabled GPSr to run the cartridge. We have tested this cartridge on an Android phone using a free app called WhereYouGo.
This tour should last about 45 minutes to an hour. We recommend that you park and walk for this tour, but it is your choice. Although not required, a flashlight might be helpful for one of the stages of this adventure.
TIPS: Start with a fully charged battery, and save your game often! If you have trouble getting a location to "trigger," wait a bit for the game to "catch up" to you. Sometimes there is a lag or delay.
Permission was obtained from Adam Henderson, Superintendent of Decatur Township Cemeteries. A big "thanks" goes out to him for helping us with this cache! Please be out of the cemetery by dusk, as the gates are closed nightly.
