The pretty church of St Michael and All Angels was founded in the 12th century and was probably associated with the near-by abbey. The church was altered and restored in the 15th and 19th centuries. More information can be found at: www.stmichaels-llantarnam.co.uk
The published coordinates marks the grave of John Fielding VC, also known as Private John Williams who won his Victoria Cross at the famous battle of Rorkes Drift, 22–23 January 1879. The battle was of course made famous in the film 'Zulu'. John Fielding's VC is in the South Wales Borderers Museum, Brecon. Pathe News has 1932 film of his funeral parade and the spot you will visit at the church: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIOV0aHpK2Y
The information you need is on one of the gravestones surrounding John Fielding's (otherwise it would be too easy). Look for the near-by grave of William, Elizabeth and Charles Whittaker.
