Periwinkle picking has occurred at this place for several generations. The periwinkle is a small edible snail, and is picked for export to France.
You require good walking boots, as this area is accessible only on foot. It is a pleasant walk on a rough path by the seaside, and when the tide is out you can walk the beach. Periwinkle picking is hard work, but the pickers will always have time for a quick chat and possibly teach you the tricks of the trade. Winkles are easily cooked, and this is an opportunity to return home with a tasty snack for the family.
The cache is a small circular tupperware box.
