This cache has been placed with the assistance from the Sundre Economic Development Committee.
Sundre is very fortunate to have such an excellent air strip. It was upgraded to a paved strip with a grass cross strip sometime in the 80's, by an oil company that wanted to drill a sour gas well nearby. As part of their evacuation plan to the Alberta Government, in case everything went sideways, they were to air lift the residents of the area out by small jets. In the end it did not turn out well for them. The hole was a duster.
