Geocache Description:

This is a pretty simple cache at a city sign that caused an unwelcome Law Enforcement Encounter at an impromptu event during the summer of 2012. Grab the cache; it is pretty quick and easy... ⇒Just be very careful to obey all traffic rules in the area - it is very well patrolled! Read on...

⇒On 6/2/2012, a group of geocachers met to attempt a few hides that had been notoriously hard (or impossible) to find.  Red 0z7, a notorious geocacher, was among this large group.

At approximately 1300, after a long search for a buried "blade of grass" hide that no longer exists, Red pulled out of the parking lot, and in the absence of any signs to the contrary, turned right to exit the area.  Unfortunately, the street turned out to one way to the left. and a local policeman was kind enough to point this out.

The story has a happy ending, however. Red, armed with track data from the GPS and photos showing that there is no indication of a restricted street from the parking lot, won the case.  The judge ordered the borough manager to get proper signage in place, so don't expect to get away with it again...

A side note: as we were getting the coords for this, a vigilant LEO was watching the intersection, specifically the stop sign that is very close to GZ.  Make sure that you stop completely here. One driver discovered that a "rolling stop" is not recognized in the PA vehicle code. Park up at the parking coords, come to a complete stop, use signals, AND DON'T GO RIGHT ON THE WAY OUT!!! Red and I will probably not come to your hearing.
