Kanab is frequently referred to as “Utah’s Little Hollywood” due to the abundance of movies and television shows filmed there during the mid-20th Century. The city’s picturesque scenery served as an ideal backdrop for dozens and dozens of Westerns films and television shows. Some of the old sets and props are displayed in area museums and businesses.
And, as the real Hollywood does, Kanab has it’s own “Little Hollywood Walk of Fame”, a collection of plaques honoring many of the stars, producers, local location scouts, stunt people, and extras. Every year during the Western Legends Roundup festival in August, more are dedicated.These plaques are on display as you stroll the sidewalks along Highway 89 as it wanders through down town. Some of these are the targets for this cache series.
There are a total of 7 caches in this series. They should all be easy stop and grabs but there are many more plaques than are represented by these caches so hopefully you’ll want to take the walk and view them all as you search for the ones I’ve highlighted in this series.
You will be looking for a tiny key holder with a log only so you will need to BYOP. It is attached under the plaque with a small magnetic button so please make sure you replace properly so that it catches.
The locations can be quite busy at times so great stealth may be required.
