Geocache Description:

This three-stage multi-cache will take you on a 3-mile round-trip journey to see some interesting places in the Charles H. Bronson State Forest.

First stop is a giant split oak with huge limbs extending out and in some cases touching the ground. I think it actually rivals the one that's over in the Split Oak Forest. There's no need to climb the tree. The 1st stage  is a metal tag attached to something I'm sure you'll recognize as being out of place. Just be careful where you step.  The neighborhood cows frequent this spot a lot.

Second stage is also a metal tag. It's hidden in a place that probably could use some CITO-ing. One of the items is an old Pink Cadillac.  Watch out for broken glass and sharp metal edges.  You may want to wear some protective gloves.

The final stage is an ammo box located near an old abandoned corral. The place is like a maze with lots of gates and chutes. Should be a fun place to explore. Hope everyone enjoys the cache! Be safe.

Directions:

Please do not attempt to access the area from Fort Christmas Road or Brown Road. You must use one of the designated trail heads for the Charles H. Bronson State Forest and pay the $2 per person entry fee.  Closest one is the Joshua Creek trail head located at the end of Phillips Road.  From there you can hike due west cross country towards the cache site. No bushwhacking is necessary as long as you follow the existing hunting trails and stay in the pasture. There is however a cattle fence that you must cross. You can either do it commando style and crawl on your belly, or you can use the step-up and hurdle yourself over.  Just be careful of the barbed-wire.

Contents:

The cache consists of an ammo box stocked with the usual assortment of trade items, some custom made geo-buttons, a cache camera and a log book.

Important Information:

Please use caution and wear bright orange clothing when entering the area during hunting season. Hunt dates can be found in the Charles H. Bronson State Forest brochure located on the FWC website at http://www.myfwc.com/hunting/wma-brochures.
