Geocache Description:

A regular sized cache hidden on the Gold Ridge Trail (#47, located off the Deer Creek trail). It is just over 2 miles round trip from the parking area.

Minas Tirith was the tower built by the high elf Finrod near the beginning of the First Age of Middle Earth. It stood on an isle of the river Sirion, and guarded the pass of Sirion from the forces of Morgoth. It was captured by Sauron, Morgoth's chief captain, and eventually destroyed in the widespread destruction at the end of the First Age of Middle Earth. Minas Anor, built in the Second Age by Isildur, was later renamed Minas Tirith after the original elven tower.

Park at the Deer Creek Trailhead. A short distance up the hill, the Gold Ridge Trail deviates to the left (southwest). You will climb to the top of a hill, approximately 400 feet in elevation from the parking area. The cache is located to the east of the trail. It is hidden mainly by remote location and should be easy to find.
