The Salvation Army became established in Chelmsford in 1886, and their first “Citadel” was a large room at the Red Cow - a Temperance Hotel situated at the junction of Rainsford Road  and Broomfield Road.
Just five  months later they moved to a new home in refurbished  2nd floor premises in Springfield Road, with space for 400 people.
Since that time, the Citadel has been located in different areas of Chelmsford, including Moulsham Street, prior to the opening in 2009 of the present day building - of modernistic design, situated between Baddow Road and Parkway.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
