This church is one of the masterpieces of American architect William Merrell Vories who was a founder of Oomi brothers company and an earnest Christian.
It was constructed in 1922.
It was partially destroyed by Hanshin Awaji great earthquake disaster of 1995 years, but, after revival construction for eight months, was able to revive safely.
In 1996, with a registration cultural assets system start of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, it became the registration cultural assets.
With the red brick building which is classics of the Norman(Romanesque) architecture, there is much highlight such as a solid arch and spire, a gabled roof, a beautiful rose window (circular show window).

この教会は近江兄弟社の創立者で、熱心なクリスチャンであった
アメリカ人建築家ヴォーリズの代表作の一つです。
1922年(大正11年)に建造されました。
1995年(平成7年)の阪神淡路大震災により半壊しましたが、8ヶ月に亙る復興工事の末、
無事復興することができました。
1996(平成8年)年には文化庁の登録文化財制度発足に伴い、登録文化財となりました。
ロマネスク様式のクラッシクな赤レンガ建築で、
重厚なアーチや尖塔、切妻屋根、
美しいバラ窓（円形飾り窓）など多くの見所があります。
