Jardín Botánico Traditional Cache
applebrothers: Recently there were several people who could not find our cache. I emailed our San Ignacio contact and she checked for the cache. It was a magnetic keycase attached to a metal plate screwed into the bottom of a wooden bench. The metal base plate remains but the cache is no longer there. We live 1,200 miles away and are no longer able to travel to San Ignacio so are unable to replace the cache. Please permanently remove this cache from the game. Thank you. Applebrothers

This cache is our first and is located in one of our favorite peaceful places. Come and sit awhile. Enjoy the botany and history of San Ignacio. No need to turn over any stones or rock work to find this cache.
This cache is small and contains 20 pesos for FTF. It also contains a Yosemite smashed penny, log, and pencil. The San Ignacio Mission, completed in 1786, is still in use today. During the 53 year period of its construction, San Ignacio was ravaged by disease, volcanic eruptions, and flooding.
At the opposite end of the plaza, look to the left and you will see Casa Lereé. The owner and local historian, Jane (Juanita), has rooms to rent, an incredible garden, and gifts by local artisans. She developed the gardens on either side of the mission. To the west lies her lovely botanical garden with plants native to San Ignacio. Your cache is here. DO NOT DISTURB ANY ROCKS OR STONEWORK. Rest in the perpetual shade and enjoy the wonders of both the history and botany of San Ignacio.
Check out Kuyima on the plaza for Eco tours and San Ignacio Springs for more lodging.
