Muddy Moments 1 Traditional Cache

A small series of 10 caches taking in the clay pit near Stafford Hill, and on towards Carr Mount and Gawthorpe Green, before returning to the start point, covering around 3.5 miles of extremely muddy ground. Very limited parking available near #1.
First series placed with a lot of help from the younger Frosties who,I hope, did an admirable job of finding the hides and map reading. Following marked paths most of the way we encountered ridiculous amounts of mud while placing, so I expect it'll be far more pleasant, but much less fun in summer. First and last caches could could be considered drivebys, probably won't even get mucky getting this one. Around the quarry are several ponds, these have been built to try preserve one of the most important colonies of Great Crested Newts in Europe, if you're really lucky you might spot some! From this first cache follow the path round to the West (follow the plastic wall past the cemetry) which will pass newt ponds and circle the quarry.
