The current western end of the Morganton Greenway has been without a cache since "This Way to the Playground" went missing sometime before I got caught up in this evil game of geocaching about 15 months ago. Therefore I hid a homemade micro near the location of that one that finally was archived.
I'm being optimistic and rating this one a five to start with. I'm not that good at estimating difficulty, but to me it's more difficult than a bunch of others that I have hidden that no one, or almost no one seems able to find.
YOU WILL NEED A SMALL KNIFE, POINTED NAIL FILE, OR OTHER SHARP-TIPPED INSTRUMENT FOR "INTERMEDIATE ACCESS OF THE LOG" BUT YOU DO NEED TO SIGN THE LOG TO DOCUMENT YOUR FIND.
Note: River banks in trees are notoriously bad places for coords, but with most of the leaves off the trees I averaged this one for six minutes and my GPS *claimed* 5.4 foot accuracy. If that's not specific enough, see the additional hint. [On 6/8/2014 I stuck into the nearby obvious place a small but very noticeable piece of litter that I picked up beside the greenway. That is gone now, but the cache still is there. Where? The "hint" tells you exactly!]
