Geocache Description:

January 2023 update: 'cachers have commented that the road in has deteriorated, perhaps following the heavy rains through 2022. Please consider only attempting on foot from the highway (a decent hike) or by 4x4 until further notice. A nice spot for some bushwalking, a picnic or just to enjoy the view. This 'cache was hidden while we watched the November 2012 solar eclipse.

Cache is located in Back Creek State Forest, on top of the first decent hill when heading north from West Wyalong. Forest entrance is approximately 17km from West Wyalong, opposite Bodells Lane.

Turn left after crossing the grid and follow the road until is breaks in to three clear paths. When you pass a farm gate and dam on your left you are about 2/3 of the way there.

When the road splits you can park your car off to the side and walk the rest of the way up the hill (recommended for 2WD cars).

Cache is accessible by 2WD vehicle in dry weather. You might need to go slow in some sections.

The usual precautions apply for going bush: watch out for snakes, wear sensible shoes, take water and food. There are no facilities available at the GZ (not even a toilet or tap).
