This cache is placed on the Middlesex County 4-H Fairgrounds with pemission from the board of directors. The terrain and difficulty levels are low. Take time to stroll the grounds which are a favorite with dog walkers. Check out the different areas where rabbits, sheep, and goats are shown. The horse show rings see many exciting events. Make sure to see the Glen down by the pond where the 4-Hers receive their awards and scholarships at the Fair's end.
The Middlesex County 4-H Fair is a private corporation dedicated to promotiing the achievements of 4-Hers. Each August they bring their animals, art, crafts, cooking, sewing, woodwork, photography, and much, much more to show the public what they've learned throughout the year. People watch children from ages 5 to 19 ride horses, show dogs, exhibit cattle, chickens, and other animals. Their flowers, environmental exhibits, bees, jellies, needlework, and more are presented for all to see. 4-Hers and family run the snack bars and Country Store. Selected outside exhibits are invited to help families enjoy a simple country fair atmosphere. The entire fair is the result a year-long effort by 4-Hers, their families, and dedicated directors. First To Find prize is 4 passes to the 2013 Middlesex County 4-H Fair. Since the new passes are not yet printed, these are last year's with a note to validate them. If the FTF wishes, an email to the cache owners will get arrangements in place to send the 2013 passes as soon as printed (sometime in August). The cache container is a small lock and lock box. Besides a log book and pencil, there is a variety of GREEN items (4-H clover color!).
PLEASE NOTE!! You WILL NOT be able to access the cache during the days of the Fair.
Also, every Monday night from June through August the Fairgrounds will be full of 4-H families cleaning and repairing the facilities. In addition, the grounds are rented (usually weekends) from spring through fall. The cache is accessible at most rental times, but should not be attempted during a horse show as stealth will be IMPOSSIBLE at GZ.h3>
