Parking is about a mile from the park entrance down close to PCH, where there is a small parking lot. If it's full, there is PCH roadside parking close to the Winding Way lot. You have to walk up through a residential neighborhood before actually getting to the park entrance.
The roadside trail is unshaded, but once in the canyon, there is lots of tree cover. Best time of year is spring or after it rains, so that the falls will really be running. Not being spring-fed, it can sometimes run dry. This is a very popular trail; being early might help with getting a precious parking spot and also for avoiding crowds.
This cache is too hard!
Mama Bear is a camouflaged small container, off of the main trail. It is above the stream, not in the stream. There is room for trackables and trade items.
Homemade FTF tag and trackable present tag for the first to find.
Happy hunting!
chloboo:
Momma Bear's make-up kit has a dozen items in it. The red of the lipstick is like cherries. Her salmon blush, well, you guessed it. As pink as salmon. These colorful things perk up Momma's day and make her happy. What makes you happy? Momma bear works at a ceramic store on Cereamik Lane and she creates vases, figurines, sculptures, and frames of all the things she loves and makes her happy. Her room is filled with her talented hand's paintings and oil-pastel handi-works of wonderful dreams and miracles. Her pictures of salmon pouring out of the glowing sun seem to glow. Her paintings of a new litter of bears dancing in the firelight with singing trees seemed to sing and hum along. Momma Bear seemed to have a special effect on the paints and crayons. One day Momma Bear came home with a frame like no other, fish and deer and all the other animals you can think of shooting out of the wood below. Poppa Bear asked what the inside would be, for the inner was blank. Momma chimed in again, as you know what she said. Something that made her happy. A memory that was fading. Something bold and strong. Later that day, a picture was strung and hung in- beneath the glass. A dot of black and the most beautiful background of all flashing colors. A dot of home, Momma said. What makes you happy? What would you have drawn? What do you picture the frame as? If you draw or paint the frame and what makes you happy, please post it or mention it in your log. We would love to see it!
Happy Hunting!
Congratulations to bleed_blue_LA for FTF!
