Geocache Description:

Escondido Canyon Park geocache, just off main trail to the waterfall.

monkeydogfish:

This is the first of our four 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' geocaches along the trail to the Escondido Falls in Escondido Canyon Park.

Other 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' Caches:
Baby Bear
Mama Bear
Papa Bear

Parking is about a mile from the park entrance down close to PCH, where there is a small parking lot. If it's full, there is PCH roadside parking close to the Winding Way lot. You have to walk up through a residential neighborhood before actually getting to the park entrance.

The roadside trail is unshaded, but once in the canyon, there is lots of tree cover. Best time of year is spring or after it rains, so that the falls will really be running. Not being spring-fed, it can sometimes run dry. This is a very popular trail; being early might help with getting a precious parking spot and also for avoiding crowds.

This cache is too hot!

Goldilocks is a micro container just off on a small side trail, soon after entering the park from the residential area, and descending into the canyon. Log only - don't forget your pen.

Homemade FTF tag for the first to find.

Happy hunting!

chloboo:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the boring story of the special animals is just poor bears in mud houses, then a house of leaves, and then a nice cave that gets huffed and puffed down by the Big Bad Goldilocks. Yeah, I know. Boring. I mean, at least the story of the Three Pigs and Wolfeylocks has a true story printed out in words. It's written by Alexander T. Whatever his darn surname is. Just because WolfeyLocks raided Momma, Poppa, and Baby pigs barn for slop, a mud bath, and a bed of hay doesn't mean they deserve such boooooring stories of, 'And she huffed and puffed and blew the leaf dam down!"(I mean, like, seriously, an exclamation mark! Not even exciting!) or, ' The slop from the big trough was too hot!'. Can we turn the dial from"Boring Kid Sentences" to something like "Spicy and Making Thing's Tongues Burn!" Ok, fine. I admit I got some fairy tales cornfused but it's a little more interesting that way, isn't it!? Well, lets see if the fairy tale land can pop out more and make Mrs. FarreeTail and Mr. TalleTailles jealous of the new Cinderella Beauty, or Tinkerbelle and the Seven Dwarves, something like that. Ok, lets see. Three Little (well, maybe a little bigger) Bears and the Big Bad Goldilocks. If stories were always so "interesting" and "exciting", why couldn't the bears and Goldilocks be as well? I think it would be interesting if you made a story, a new, more interesting book of Goldilocks and The Three Bears tale. If you happen to do so, we (me and monkeydogfish) would love it if you mentioned it in your log.

Happy Hunting!

Congratulations to bleed_blue_LA for FTF!
