Geocache Description:

This geocache has been placed with the kind permission of the RSPB. This is number 6 of 13 cache along the red route of Lake Vrynwy. It is a continuous steady and sometimes strenuous climb all the way to the top where you will have stunning views down onto the lake and across the hills, moorlands and forests of this beautiful reserve.

continue up the fairly steep hill following the well defined path until you reach the tree graveyard on your right where you can admire the fantastic view over the lake beyond.
Red kites are majestic and agile in the air, they soar on slightly bowed wings held forward with graceful flight and characteristic deeply forked tail. In good light the rusty tail is very obvious; it has a distinctive buff band on the upper wings. Coloration is distinctive below with rusty body and under wing coverts, whitish head, reddish tail and noticeable white wing patches and black wing tips.
The cache contains a log book, pencil few small items of swag and a small gift for the first to find. The container is suitable for travel bugs or coins and larger items of swag.
Due to the nature of the work undertaken by the RSPB and the forestry commission it may become necessary to temporarily disable it and we ask that you respect our decision to do this.
