FR: L'abbaye d'Aywiers a été fondée vers 1215 par des moniales cisterciennes qui ont quittés une abbaye près de Liège. Saint Lutgarde vécu ici pendant 40 ans. Aujourd'hui, il ne reste rien de l'abbaye à l'exception de 3 portails, l’ancien palais abbatiale (maintenant une maison privée) et des dépendances de l’ancienne ferme. Le domaine peut être visitée deux fois par an lors du salon de jardin 'Les Jardins d'Aywiers’, les premiers week-ends de Mai et Octobre.
EN: The abbey of Aywiers was founded in around 1215 by Cistercian nuns who moved from an abbey near Liege. Saint Lutgarde lived here for 40 years. Nowadays nothing remains of the abbey except for 3 gateways, and a few farm buildings. The palace is now a private house. The domain can be visited twice a year during the garden show ‘Les Jardins d’Aywiers’, the first weekends of May and October.
Aywiers 1 – Les Ponts / The bridges
FR: Laissez votre voiture dans le parking du cimetière et suivez le chemin à droite du cimetière.
Aprés avoir trouvé la cache vous allez traverser un pont métallique moderne, puis un pont ancien en briques. Les immenses murs de l'ancienne abbaye sont à votre gauche, à côté de la Lasne. Notez bien le chiffre pour le bonus = V.
Prevoir des bottes par temps pluvieux.
EN: Leave your car in the carpark by the graveyard and follow the path to the right of the graveyard. After finding the cache you will cross a modern metal bridge and then an old brick bridge. The huge walls of the old abbey are to your left, alongside the Lasne. Make sure your note down the bonus number = V.
You will need boots in wet weather.
