The Bays of Harris stretch along the east coast from Tarbert to Rodel and Manish is a typical township. Not many people live there now but one can get an idea of its past history through its ruins and the 'lazy beds'. There is no track to the cache and being in Harris, and good footwear and waterproof clothing are essential.
Chairman Mao and Xiao Mei Ling are inside the cache and enjoying, on a fine day, the views across the Minch to Skye and the west coast of Scotland.
