Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the RSPB. It is cache number 9 of 11 along the Red Trail. It is a continuous steady and sometimes strenuous climb all the way to the top where you will have stunning views down onto the lake, hills, moorlands and forests of this beautiful reserve.

Please note that Mobile Phone coverage is very poor in this area so you are advised to download the required information prior to your visit to allow for access when offline.

Follow the red trail up the hill. The highest point at this part of the mountain is about 480 metres (1,574 feet) so the weather conditions will be colder than below as you are exposed to the elements. Please dress appropriately. The cache contains a log book, pencil, a few small swag items and is suitable for small travel bugs, coins and larger swag items.
The Jay is the most colourful of the crows. Their body is pinkish, browner above than below with a white rump and a black tail. The wing has a bright white panel and a patch of blue with black bars.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken by the RSPB and the forestry commission it may at times be necessary to temporarily disable this cache and we ask that you respect our decision to do this.
