Geocache Description:

The cache is a container placed at a local solar farm. The cache is on the borders of the company and is easily retrievable during all times. BYOP

On 9 November 2011 at 13h00,  a local company decided to flick the switch that has permanently shifted the company's main electricity consumption from the national power utility to solar power. The company will now be getting up to 40% of its energy from the sun with the remainder coming from the national power utility. They aim to to move this number up to 60% by utilising demand side management which works to change existing infrastructure, such as computers and lights, to lower their electricity consumption.

The solar farm works in a grid tie system, meaning that when the solar input is low, power from the national grid will power the building, and on days when the building is not in use or there is an excess of solar energy being generated, this will flow back into the national power grid.
