Placing this mini-series bought back so many memories of my growing up around here, from falling in frozen ditches in mid-winter, to scrumping apples from orchards. I take more notice of the footpath signs nowadays whereas back then me and my friends would walk where we liked over fields and down farm tracks. This is not quite a cache and dash, but it won't take long to park close to the footpath start, at either end of the route. If you want a longer walk you could go from one end and walk back via middle green on the reasonably quiet lane back to the car. Recommending dogs stay on leads if you use the road as some drivers can be a little speedy
