gracie7 + Mum: After a great morning event in town we headed out to Punakaiki to do some maintenance on the Pororari River Trail.
We were having a good look here and then Mum scratched the back of her neck on some punga so we gave up - on both the search and the cache. This one has become more problematic than it is worth. Thanks for all the visits [:)]

Geocache Description:

A cache across the suspension bridge near Punakaiki

I used to be quite scared of swing bridges but like em or not geocachers always seems to want to take you across them

Now its your turn to cross the swing bridge.
Now days as long as we dont have "boys" with us to thrash about on the bridge to get it swinging I am pretty okay.

A familiar spot for locals as its already housed one cache here before but its now in a different spot a bit higher up from the river.
On the day we placed this Mum and I were the sandfly buffet so we wanted to get out there quick smart to escape the feeding frenzy therefore we have included a spolier photo if you choose to do the same and high tail it outer there once you have signed the logbook.

This is a working farm with public access to the river so please close the gates as you go. I have added coordinates for the carpark (if your lucky you might see some wekas) and watch out for any horsey dung piles
