Geocache Description:

Learn about The Jerry Rescue, an important event in Syracuse history!

Find the spot where The Jerry Rescue is commemorated in downtown Syracuse, New York. After you've learned about the event from the information provided at the cache location, you should be able to answer the three-part question below.

Cache Question: 1) Where is the star, 2) what does it symbolize, and 3) why will a geocacher find it interesting? Finding a place to park nearby is your biggest challenge.

Send an email with your answer to the cache owner. I will send a reply telling if your answers are correct, and granting permission to log the cache. Then come back to the this page to log your find. Please do not answer the cache question in your log report or upload photos that show the answer.

Bonus Challege: Find Samuel May's grave in Oakwood Cemetery at N43 01.920, W76 08.271. Tell me about Samuel May's role in the Jerry Rescue, and upload a photo of yourself with Sam!
