This is a magnetic nano cache which is situated on Wootton Bridge and should be a cache 'n dash provided the coast is clear. There are some wonderful views of the mill pond which you can enjoy while you are signing the log including plenty of wildlife to look out for. Please replace exactly as found and be careful of watchful muggles waiting for the bus! (If parking at the suggested waypoint, be careful when crossing the road as it becomes very busy at times).
Wootton Bridge is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between Ryde and Newport. The village was created from two separate settlements that eventually merged into one: Wootton and Wootton Bridge, which is located to the east of the village at the scenic Wootton Creek and Millpond. The flour mill that operated from a second sluice gate in the bridge using tidal water from the mill pond no longer exists (demolished in 1962). The pond now has become a conservation area housing bats, birds and wildfowl. Fringing the pond, Firestone Copse is a beautiful woodland with trails leading through a wide variety of broadleaf and coniferous trees. The waters of the creek are especially lively, filled with picturesque yachts and a nearby Inn.
