Odoardo Spadaro (1893-1965)
Odoardo Spadaro è stato cantante, fantasista e attore di varietà. A Firenze nel primo dopoguerra mosse i primi passi in teatro mostrando anche la sua vena di autore, si trasferì poi a Parigi dove lavorò alle Folies Bergère e al Moulin Rouge. Alcune tounèe in America lo consacrarono artista internazionale. Tornato in Italia fu autore di numerosi brani musicali tra cui “Sulla carrozzella”, “Qualche filo bianco”, “Il valzer della povera gente”. Ma la canzone che lo ha reso più famoso è stata senz’altro “La porti un bacione a Firenze”, un omaggio alla propria città. Nel secondo dopoguerra si dedicò più al cinema e al teatro lasciando il mondo della canzone. La cache è nascosta alla sua casa natale, all’angolo tra via Luca Landucci e Via Pasquale Villari.
Bring a big kiss to Florence
Odoardo Spadaro was a singer, actor, variety artist. In Florence he begun to play in the theatre showing his capability of author, after he went to Paris where he worked at Folies Beregère and Moulin Rouge. Some travels to America consecrated him as an international artist. Back in Italy he was author of several songs like “Sulla carrozzella”, “Qualche filo bianco”, “Il valzer della povera gente”. But his most famous song was “La porti un bacione a Firenze” (Bring a big kiss to Florence), a tribute to his city. After the WWII he worked more in the cinema and the theatre abandoning the music. The cache is hidden near his native house, at the corner between Via Luca Landucci and Via Pasquale Villari.
