Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to one of the prairies at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. A trail loops around the prairie and the grasses and wildflowers vary greatly from season to season. The walk is about 1/4 mile from the parking coordinates listed below. The trail can be very wet at times depending upon the amount of rainfall. It is a grass trail with some bushwhacking to find the container.

Columbia Bottom Conservation Area is a wonderful place to visit. Here you can see the confluence of the two mighty rivers, the Mississippi and Missouri. You can learn about the mosaic of habitats the conservation area has to offer, about the explorers Lewis and Clark, and why wetlands are necessary. The area is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Visit the Missouri Department of Conservation website for more information and a map, Columbia Bottom Conservation Area
