O Marco Zero é um monumento localizado na cidade de Macapá, capital do Amapá, no Brasil. Construído junto ao Estádio Milton Corrêa para marcar a passagem exata da Linha do Equador em Macapá, o Marco Zero tornou-se um dos mais importantes pontos turísticos da capital do meio mundo.
O monumento é constituído de uma edificação de 30 metros de altura dotada de um círculo na parte superior, através do qual é possível visualizar o Equinócio ao menos duas vezes por ano. Entre 20 e 21 de março e também entre 22 e 23 de setembro, o Sol alinha-se perfeitamente no círculo do monumento e proteja um raio de luz sobre a Linha imaginária do Equador. (Fonte: Wikipedia).
The Ground Zero (Marco Zero) is a monument located at Macapá, Amapa´s capital district in Brazil. Build along with the soccer stadium Milton Correa to empathize the exact location of the Equator Line crossing over the city. The Ground Zero (Marco Zero) has become one of the major tourist points of its kind.
The monument has a 30 meters tower with a large hole on top here twice a year at the equinoxes the sun light aligns with it, usually between March 20th to the 21st and September 22nd to the 23rd.
