BookCrossing-Rolla Branch Redux Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

NRL: After talking with some of the Phelps County Historical Society folks, I'm going to archive this cache, and place a new cache nearby (if I can get around to it) that does not require you to enter the building, but still lends you the chance if it's unlocked.

The current board of directors was unaware of any permission give to host the cache in the building, which is not surprising seeing as it is 10 years old. Hopefully I can put together another nice multi nearby.

I have obtained permission to place a new cache nearby from the Historical Society and will try to put together some sort of history lesson/multi.

Thanks for all who visited!

Geocache Description:

The first waypoint is availabe anytime, but the final cache location may be hit and miss as the building is run by volunteers and is not on strict schedule. If the final area is locked when you try for the cache, shoot me a message.

This cache is a redux of the original BookCrossing-Rolla Branch (GCGDPQ) placed by nyisutter back in 2003. I was deeply disappointed to see it go as it was one of my favorite caches in the area. I tried to save the original by maintaining it, but it was too late. But now I'm bringing it back for more to enjoy!

This is a BookCrossing Cache with a history lesson.

This cache is hidden in a very historic location in Rolla. Located near the 1838 log building that houses the Phelps County Museum and the 1860 Civil War Courthouse.

The posted coordinates will take you to hidden instructions on finding the final cache.

The final cache is very unique and is stocked with registered books that have been "released in the wild". There is a special BCID # inside the books, please go to the BookCrossing site to make a journal entry for the book(s) you take. These books are like Travel Bugs and their BCID# is used to track where they are, just like a travel bug #.

Please go to BookCrossing.Com and register your book before trading. If you forget to register your books, use one of the pre-numbered labels found in the log book bag to label your book. Be sure to write down the BCID number from the label so that you can register your book at BookCrossing.com when you get home. Thanks!

Feel free to pop back in again and trade books either from the cache or the Crossing Zone that the cache is in. BookCrossing is like a world wide library but there are no due dates or late fees! But please, if you take a book, leave a book (Or if you take two, leave two, etc.) so that our other bookloving friends will have something to read!

Be sure to take a peek at any historical exhibits that you come across!

Happy Caching and Reading!

Congratulations to 5out4fun for the Re-FTF!
