This cache gets its name from the large number of vultures roosting in several trees near the cache area on a couple of different days when I was there to scout out a hiding spot. Kind of strange! Almost like they were watching and waiting for something to die!
The cache is hidden within Lake Dardanelle State Park, on the Dardanelle side. This is a 2-stage multi-cache, with the first stage being a micro with coordinates for the second stage, a plastic dry box with a log book and a few trade items. Feel free to take something. But, as with any geocache, if you take something, please leave something of equal or greater value, so that the cache remains stocked with quality swag.
The terrain rating is based upon the steep slope that must be descended to reach the final stage. But it is a short distance! Just take your time and be careful, or else you might end up in Dardanelle Bay with a few cuts, bruises, and broken bones! Or, worse, you might end up being a meal for the vultures!
Hidden with permission of Lake Dardanelle State Park, Permit No. 25-16.
