A micro with a view of a nice little waterfall.
The Back Stanley Rd to Myrtleford was sealed in 2012, to the delight of local road-cyclists (mountain-bikers may be a little less enthusiastic....)
It's still a remarkable road giving an unexpected feeling of isolation and wildness.
There are great views from the road to the slopes of Mt Stanley, and you can see the effects of the Black Saturday bushfire of 2009 in the white sticks of the burnt forests across the valley.
The waterfall across the valley is quite spectacular after heavy rain - it's actually on an unnamed tributary of Myrtle Creek. (I'm now told by locals that their real name is Bald Hill Falls...)
The cache is a micro container with logsheet only - you'll need a pencil or pen.
Parking is possible at small pull-offs 50m uphill and downhill from GZ - please get as far off as you can. PLEASE be careful walking on the road, especially with kids - this road has quite a bit of traffic, especially at weekends. Watch for motor-bikes.
