A short walk from easy parking, particularly if you are Northbound on 95. Goldfield Summit pass is at 6,097 feet above sea level and a good way above the town. The old Las Vegas & Tonopah railroad, which ran from Beatty to Goldfield, from 1908 to 1914, a scant six years made its way to the easy over more level ground, about 1 mile east, and east of Myers Mountain, threading through the goldfield to the north and east of here, on into town.
The Geocache is a small aluminum container with logbook, pencils and a few small trade items.
If you are south bound it is probably safer to cross the summit check for oncoming traffic from the south and then turning around to approach the small gravel pull-out for parking.
