Geocache Description:

A simple drive-by at the end of Lady Anne's Highway.

The byway over Cotter End has been used as a route for thousands of years, and was once the "main road" used by Lady Anne Clifford in her travels to the castles that she restored at Pendragon, Appleby and Brough. This end is now closed to motorised vehicles because of serious erosion, but you can park here and walk to convenient parking at the other end at "Thrang" in Mallerstang, picking up a further eight caches on the way (or more with a slight detour).

The original cache was magnetically attached to the sign, but has disappeared twice, so this replacement is something different.
