ENGLISH
The "Pagoda" building is a landmark in the city of Piraeus.
It is located close to the Cruise Passenger Terminal A, and next to St Nicholas Square underground car park Station.
Main characteristic of the building is the roof wich is hanging from metallic wires and looks like a sailing boat or like a pagoda
Constructed from 1964 to 1969 and was designed for the farewell of the Greek immigrants of the '60 decade, which were leaving by hundreds due to the economic crisis of the time.
Nowadays there is a conversion plan into 5 stars hotel which also will be the first 5 stars hotel of Piraeus.
Near the cache point a sightseeing bus departs for a tour of Piraeus and Athens.
There is also a tourist mini-train departs few meters away.
The Cache
The cache is a small magnetic round canister "bisson type".
Containing logbook for name and date only.
Do not forget to bring a pen with you!
It also contains a small FTF present for the lucky geocacher who will find the cache first!
ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ
Η "Παγόδα" είναι ένα κτήριο ορόσημο στην πόλη του Πειραιά.
Βρίσκεται κοντά στον Επιβατικό σταθμό εξωτερικού Α, και δίπλα στο υπόγειο πάρκινγκ της πλατείας του Αγ.Νικολάου.
Το κύριο χαρακτηριστικό του κτηρίου είναι η οροφή του, η οποία κρέμεται από μεταλλικά καλώδια και μοιάζει με ιστιοφόρο ή σαν παγόδα.
Κατασκευάστηκε από το 1964 έως το 1969 και σχεδιάστηκε για τον αποχαιρετισμό των Ελλήνων μεταναστών της δεκαετίας του '60, οι οποίοι έφευγαν κατά εκατοντάδες λόγω της οικονομικής κρίσης της εποχής.
Σήμερα υπάρχει σχέδιο μετατροπής του κτηρίου σε ξενοδοχείο 5 αστέρων, το οποίο θα είναι και το πρώτο 5-αστερων του Πειραιά.
Από την περιοχή της κρύπτης αναχωρεί τουριστικό λεωφορείο για τον γύρο του Πειραιά και της Αθήνας
Επίσης παραδίπλα ξεκινά κι ένα τρενάκι για τον γύρο του Πειραιά.
Η Κρύπτη
Η κρύπτη είναι ένα μικρό μαγνητικό κυλινδρικό δοχείο.
Περιέχει log αρχείο για όνομα και ημερομηνία μόνο.
Μη ξεχάσετε να φέρετε τον στυλό σας.
Επίσης περιέχει ένα πολύ μικρό FTF δώρο.
