Geocache Description:

Visit the redundant phone box at Lover which has been adopted by the parish. Not much walking involved.

Please look at the name of this cache and the photo below before visiting. This is intended to be a "Cache & Dally", not a "Cache & Dash"

The Lover Phone Box is one of thousands of the familiar red K6 Phone Boxes Click here that played a key part in our lives until the advent of the mobile phone. BT are now selling them to communities for £1, and this one belongs to Redlynch Parish Council. It is being used as a Swap Shop for books, CDs and DVDs and is open to all considerate visitors 24/7.

For this reason, the Geocache Box only contains a log book and pen, although usual Geocaching Rules apply - “If you take something from the box, leave something in of equal or greater value”.
So please come prepared! We are not wanting too many "TNLN" logs.

This Phone Box is also registered on the international Book Crossing website.

As this cache will be accessed by the public, we do not recommend it is used as a drop-box for Travel Bugs and GeoCoins.

This is the first of a series of caches that are planned to follow the route of the “Historic Ramble through Redlynch & Woodfalls” leaflet produced by the Redlynch & District Local History Society.
