The Mayan calender seems to abruptly end on 12/21/12. Maybe it doesn't. To some people, this seems to indicate that the world just might come to an end at this time. Personally, I think that they just ran out of stone to paint on or maybe they just hitched a ride on the last dolphin outta town, which could explain their sudden disappearance.
This just might be your last opportunity to attend a geocaching event before the Universe boils away before our very eyes. As a Douglas Adams fan, I take great pride in inviting you to join me at what possibly could be our last dinner and event... at our closest analogue to Milliways, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe! Ok, so it's a burger joint in Nederland, but the similarities are striking. (Incliuding my reason for choosing the Nederland location. WAAAYYYYY back in 1981 I met my best friend while we were both stationed in Okinawa, Japan, every time someone asked where he was from, he answered a small town called Nederland Texas, when they asked where that was he would say it was about 15 miles east of Beaumont, when they didn't know where that was he would say about 90 miles east of Houston, and if you don't know where Houston is you could never find Nederland anyway, "It's a lot like being here in Okinawa..... It's not the end of the world, But you can see it from there!!!!!!!!!)
So, take photos with your geo-friends, trade those bugs you've been holding on to for just a liiiittle too long, and eat some burgers, which as you know is an exact replica of the earth (which as you know, is a computer) and not the lost planet Magrathea. Be sure to sign the log book and claim what could be your last Smiley, as that will help cushion the stress of being rescued by an intergalactic demolition ship as it passes by what was once... the earth, which by the way is mostly harmless. However, the chances of any of this happening are infinitely improbably, nil. Probably. Have a nice, hot cup of tea and we'll see you there! The event starts at 6pm.
Bonus points if you can tell us the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything.
Even more bonus points if you can tell us what the question actually is.
Oh, and if the world as we know it does in fact melt away before the event...
So long, and thanks for all the Fish!
