Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. It is down a red dirt road that is not maintained during the winter and will be muddy in the spring and after rain.

This is a mystery cache. You must solve the puzzle below to determine the final coordinates. Any baby-boomer or Gen Xer can solve this puzzle. You need to make a couple of keen observations and then do a little research.

Consider the following list of short sentences. Each sentence contains one “hidden” element. Together, the elements from each sentence will form an obvious pattern or connection to a common theme. To solve this puzzle, you need to:

Discover the hidden elements in the sentences below and deduce the theme that binds those elements together as a set. Once you know the theme, answer the questions below to determine the coordinates.

*What was the year of the original publication for the subject of this theme? The last two digits of this year are A.

*What are the three missing elements associated with this theme? B, C and D=the number of letters in each of these element names with (B less than C and C less than D).

*E is the sum of the letters in his last name obtained by substituting A=1, B=2, …Z=26. (i.e., Smith=69).
