Night Vision Goggles - Ged'des Cache Series Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (within 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A Ged'des (Get These) Cache Series cache placed along... Geddes Road. This is a night cache and should be done at night.  If you want to attempt it during the day, it's *possible*.  Most tacks are spaced close together.

I like to cache at night.  I also do a fair bit of caching at night.  So much caching that I should probably get a pair of night vision goggles. For quite a while now, I've been keeping an eye out for areas to place a night cache, but most parks close at dusk or way too early for my liking.  Recently, I was out scouting final locations for caches as part of the "Ged 'des Cache Series" along-you guessed it- Geddes Road, when I suddenly realized something.  This would be a great spot for a night cache.  What started as a simple, traditional cache, grew and grew into this complicated monster of a cache with 13 stages, multiple field puzzles, various pulleys and levers all culminating into one unspeakable act.  That seemed a bit much, so I scaled it back into a traditional night cache with reflective trail tacks. Well, some of the bits are still there... like the bushwhacking, and some other stuff. I did get rid of the bamboo pit, though.  The reflective tacks are placed close together.  I suggest going from one tack to the next to avoid turning this into a 5 terrain cache. Unless that's your thing, of course. Then go ahead and go for it. And while you're at it, you can climb every tree to make sure the cache didn't get moved by a critter. OK. That seems a bit excessive. You can probably get away with just climbing every other tree or one in every three. Just don't expect me to give you credit for it. You can do that for yourself in GSAK. A little trick to finding the tacks is to keep the flashlight at eye level so the reflective tacks shows up better. Once you get to the end, you'll reach a spot with 3 tacks.  The cache is within 25-30 of the final. So bring your flashlight and your night vision goggles and get ready for a little night caching. Eine kleine Nachtkaching, if you will.
